The color guard is a part of the marching band and is therefore governed by all the same rules and regulations as set forth by the band director. The purpose of the color guard is to enhance the performance of the band in a visual manner utilizing dance techniques along with props such as flags and rifles. **Alternates for color guard are subject to change based on rehearsal etiquette, attendance, and ability.
Members of band auxiliaries performing at school sponsored functions will meet the following criteria in order to be auditioned:
Auditions and selections will be the responsibility of the directors and a team of expert judges. Every color guard member, including officers, must audition each year. The number and types of auxiliary units may vary from year to year, depending on the size of the performing band and the availability of talent. Winter Guard members must follow all of the rules stated above. Rehearsals will be designated by the instructor in the Spring.
