About RHHS Mighty Hawk Band
Varsity Jazz Ensemble
August - May
The Varsity Jazz Ensemble is an advanced level class for students to learn improvisation, jazz theory, and the styles of swing, ballad, rock, Latin, and fusion. The band will perform at concerts, festivals, and special events throughout the year.
- Prerequisite: Audition by Directors. Instrumentation requirements.
- Auditions: Held in May
- Rehearsals: During class period.
- Performances and competitions: Begin in September and continue through May.
- Cost: Students can expect to pay a fee for participation to cover certain expenses.
- Attendance: All out-of-school rehearsals and performances are required.
- Instruments: Piano, Guitar, Bass Guitar, Drums, Saxophone, Trombone, Trumpet. Additional instruments vary depending on selected jazz chart.
