About H9 Jazz Band

The H9 Jazz Band is an intermediate level ensemble for students to learn improvisation, jazz theory, and the styles of swing, ballad, rock, Latin, and fusion. The band will perform at concerts, festivals, and special events throughout the year.

• Prerequisite: Director Approval
• Rehearsals: Two rehearsals per week outside the school day.
• Performances and competitions: Begin in January and continue through May.
• Attendance: All out-of-school rehearsals and performances are required.
• Instruments: Piano, Guitar, Bass Guitar, Drums, Saxophone, Trombone, Trumpet. Additional instruments vary depending on selected jazz chart.
